Is there something similar to LDD automatically generated instructions available in Stud.io? Thanks!įirst, with 2000+ pieces, I hope you’re using submodels. Since I am building 2.000+ pieces projects it is very hard to follow the LDD or io file by itself to build the initial buid, and a quick instruction guide would be great. I know that Stud.io has a powerfull step-by-step instruction maker, but I would like to have a quick instructions generator, like LDD has (even if it is very rough and strange the way the steps are added) to make the first build of my creations, to test it for stability etc before making the final model (and then using the step-by-step maker to produce the final instructions). And it definitely changes EVERY model in some way no matter what it is. If I export something from LDD and it has parts that the third party doesn't recognize, it just deletes that part, or parts. You might be asking, "So you can get it there, what's the problem?" Well, no parts library has the amount of parts that Lego Digital Designer has. I use two third party applications to get LDD models to Maya. Either way, all I want is the ability to export files from Lego Digital Designer to Maya without a third party or going through to add each individual piece. The Lego Movie people had a plugin for maya, nothing on the internet is very specific but it seems that either you exported individual pieces to maya or you exported models. In a similar vein to Unity of Command, though not as dedicated in its pursuit of it, Panzer Corps 2 can sometimes feel more like a puzzle game than a strategy one, as you slide your very specific units around the map looking to block and exploit weaknesses in your opponent’s likewise specific frontline. Once you get your head around that, though, you’ll start to run into what makes this such a great game, and such an improvement in many ways over its predecessor. It can be immensely frustrating to flank your opponent with armour, dive into their unprotected infantry and find that the specific model of the Panzer III you’ve sent is useless for the task. But finding the right one, when at a glance they all look the same, takes a lot of study and trial-and-error (thankfully, at most difficulties Panzer Corps 2 has a very generous undo button). Send the wrong tank against the wrong enemy unit on the wrong terrain and it can be toast. Some variations of the same tank might be good against infantry, others against armour, and this is both tough to keep track of but also super important. In Panzer Corps 2 there’s an insane variety of units, with tanks numbering in the dozens, and they all have very different stats. Indeed the whole screen, from the landscape to the custom paintjobs you can give each unit, is bursting with colour and vibrancy, which I really appreciate in games like this where all I’m doing 90% of the time is staring at the map.Īnother big change, at least as far as my hazy memories of the older games are concerned, is the degree to which units differ from each other. It’s now the most visually impressive game of its type on the PC, with full 3D units that zip around the map, turn their turrets and explode beautifully. That’s exactly what you did in both Panzer General and Panzer Corps, though, so one of the things helping set this newer game apart is its massive graphical overhaul. With each battle your units gain more experience and can be upgraded, and at points you’re given the chance to choose your campaign path, potentially leading to different battles and outcomes. In Panzer Corps 2’s campaign, the centrepiece of the game, you play a German General tasked with building an army then taking it through the entire Second World War, from Poland to France to North Africa to Russia and beyond. You can smash your way across the rivers to the West, sneak through the northern approaches or flank around the more open spaces to the east. The battle for Moscow, for example, provides multiple opportunities for you to approach the city depending on how your army is built and how you want to approach the mission. Now it’s Panzer Corps 2’s turn to bring that same formula into the 2020s, and for the most part it does a damn good job. When it comes to the application of that in a Second World War setting, Panzer General built off classic tabletop wargames and almost perfected it, then when it got too long in the tooth Panzer Corps stepped in and repeated the feat. ![]() There’s a reason the two games I just mentioned have innovated off the battlefield, with stuff like relationships, loot and death, because the fundamental nature of turn-based tactics is so old and proven (thousands of years and counting!) that you don’t really need to do much with it It’s a genre that’s frozen in time, which I’ve seen some people criticise when it comes to this game, but I don’t mind a bit. ![]() While leaning very heavily on the influence of 1994’s genre-defining Panzer General, anyone who has played anything from Fire Emblem to XCOM will know their way around the basics of Panzer Corps. Panzer Corps 2 is your classic hexagonal turn-based strategy wargame, the second such major release of its type in the last six months after Unity of Command II. Timeless and with an enormous library of extra content, its still a lot of fun even today, so it’s 2020 sequel has a lot to prove, and a lot to justify. The first Panzer Corps, released back in 2011, is one of the all-time great strategy games on the PC. ![]() ![]() This easy flow works so well for the unconfident writer in all of us. Why Do I Need to Review the Technics SL-1210GAE and 1200G?Īt least that’s what I thought when Scot Hull first asked me if I wanted to spend some time with the 1210GAE. While the Technics SL-1210GAE costs exactly the same as the 1200G, $4000, one day it will be worth a lot more money. The older 1210s were made in smaller quantities than the 1200, which made them a “special edition.” Technics isn’t even being coy about that this time around-the GAE designation stands, of course, for Grand Anniversary Edition, which is what they did with the first run of 1200GAEs. The press info implies, however, that this is a new feature they may add to all future 1200s.īut here’s the real reason, at least in my opinion, why the Technics SL-1210GAE is possibly the “better” turntable. There’s one difference-there’s a new feature on the 1210GAE that turns off the strobe. ![]() That’s the difference between these two current record players from the Japanese electronics giant, the Technics SL-1210GAE and SL-1200G, the latter being the ‘table I’ve used as my reference for the last couple of years. The main difference between the old Technics SL-1210 and the Technics SL-1200 was that the 1210 came in black, with gold accents and markings and badges. But there was something in his answer that suggested, more or less, that the 1210 is the better ‘table, don’t really know why, but it’s widely accepted as true. You know, I don’t want to put words into this gentleman’s mouth fifteen or twenty years after the fact. ![]() “What’s the difference between it and the 1200?” I asked. Many years ago I visited the home of one of my fellow audio reviewers-he invited me over to hear a Technics that had a few mods but a very expensive cartridge on it-and he quickly corrected me the first time I muttered the number “1200.” I used to hear that argument all of the time, that the 1210 was the model the generals of the 1200 Army used, and then they’d get it all after-marketed out with Jelco arms and outboard power supplies and very, very special rubber feet and then they’d go onto the internet forums and challenge belt-drive TT enthusiasts to an A/B comparison. ![]() Why? Well, the classic Technics SL-1210 turntable was always better than the classic SL-1200, right? So it just stands to reason. ![]() Why do a comparison between the Technics SL-1210GAE and SL-1200G?
